Recently I got a chance to listen to Palagummi Sainath in our cultural festival.It was great experience to listen to a 30 years rural journalist who opened up our minds about the true picture of rural India.
We always read in the media about ‘India Shining’,’ Rural Resurgence of India’ all this high sounding words about 75% of our population. We celebrate our GDP growth with exuberance and often describe as ‘Indian Tiger’ .
Mr.Sainath shared his experience in various part of our country, Orissa, AP, Maharastra.Specially his stint in Vidharba and true experience horrible negligence of our government towards peasants is really alarming .Current nexus between corporate and media through open shareholding, paid news by politician, misguidance of common mass by media for their own purpose is rampant in Indian context.
